The composition of propolis can vary depending on the location of the bees and what trees and flowers they have access to. For example, propolis from Europe won’t have the same chemical makeup as propolis from Brazil. This can make it difficult for researchers to come to general conclusions about its health benefits.

Directions

Adults: To soothe the throat, drop 6-12 drops onto the back of the throat or in water to gargle or swallow.

The Benefits and Uses of Propolis

We use Propolis in our home for flu/cold systems, viruses, such as ear infections, and external or internal burns. Propolis, famously known as "bee glue," is a sticky, waxy substance made by bees said to contain anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-microbial, and anti-fungal properties. It is abundant in amino acids, antioxidants known as bioflavonoids, vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. Propolis has been used for centuries to enhance the immune system, treat various skin conditions, aid in preventing cancer, and treat viral infections such as genital herpes. 

Propolis can be found in capsules, oral rinse, lozenge, liquid, ointment, and cream form. Historically many of the cultures that utilize Propolis did so, often primarily, for its immune and anti-microbial actions (see Propolis Throughout History). Propolis offers a built-in holistic approach to keeping us healthy through the cold & flu season. First and foremost is its ability to support, activate, and boost our body’s natural defenses. It increases the number of immune cells, boosts immune cell activities, and ups antibody production. 

Specifically, propolis contains polyphenols called flavonoids. Flavonoids are produced in plants as a form of protection. They’re commonly found in foods thought to have antioxidant properties, including:
